Suggestion: Remove the ability to edit subject lines after "x" minutes

Post by michael »

As per the subject line really - people edit them too much, you think you are following a thread then all of a sudden a new one appears... only it's not new, it just has a new subject...

A subject line should reflect the content of the first post, if the thread moves away from this topic it's time for a new one, not an edit.

By all means allow them to be modified for a certain amount of time to allow spelling mistakes / typos to be corrected but the constant changing is annoying.

Or maybe it's just me ;)

It's not just you actually. I wish the ability to edit was removed after say 1 hour, any content of the post. Works well on GTROC and makes people think harder about what they are posting. :)

I wanted to put that but only realised after I'd submitted, I was scared it would say I'd edited the post ;)

10 minutes for the editing seems enough IMO.

I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.
