On my vBulletin forum the email notification message jumps you straight to the first unread post in the thread, you also have the option to click a link in each thread that does the same thing.
Can this feature be introduced here? Is it available as a hack or a feature that needs turning on?

"'View First Unread" feature like vBulletin give by default.-

Yout should get a job for vB.
Let me have another look 
and see what I come up with. To be honest the viewing unread is broke at the moment as you properly noticed. Once that is fixed it might be possible.Oh and the vB garage you pointed me to.
