[Mk2] [Generic] Help fitting Ganador mirrors - connectors don't match

Post by Edwin »

I thought Ganador mirrors were bolt-on? I've been fitting my new mirrors but noticed the Toyota connector is much smaller than the Ganador ones. Both have three wires so that should be the same... anyone else had this problem? What to do? I really don't want to cut off the Toyota connector on the stock mirrors in case I ever put them back on!

That's the 7pin plug that connects to retractable mirrors.

I have the mirrors and loom, here, ready to fit.

Ah I see... mine is a GT-S so no retractable mirrors. I'll just try and solder something together then, unless you have a better idea? :?

Just cut and shut the plug off the old mirrors. Cheap as chips on ebay if you need to replace them.

Yes... you're probably right. And if I can solder the Toyota plug onto the Ganador harness, I can sure solder it back on if I want to. Cheers for that!

You don't need to cut and solder, the pins are the same, depin and reconfigue into the old 3 pin connector to suit. If you can't do it then Rogue Motorsport can do it as they have a new elecronics/mapping guru who seem to know lots of tricks like this.

Thank you :) The wing's not custom, it's made by Do-Luck and VERY rare! More pics available here:
