import 2 turbo Vs. 2.0 turbo corsa

Post by djlee_dj »

how would win ?

its a import 2.0l turbo with k&n cone induction and dump valve. and was told a stainless exhaust (looks standard tho), 17s (konig troubles)

Vs.

a 2.0l turbo corsa (calibra turbo engine) f16 box(long ratio apperntly), dump valve, induction and exhaust, 16s (speedlines)

so whos your money on ?

in the dry , on the straight.

Beg the question, who cares?!

However, you don't state which revision of MR2 it is so that could make a fair difference...

My mate had a std MR2 Turbo and his girlfriend a 2.0 16V Nova and the Nova had the edge down a straight.

The corsa will struggle with traction off of the line, but then hey, so will the tubby lol.

Hate to say it, but my money would be on the Corsa. Lightweight car with good BHP = fast.

Corsa should have the mr2 easily, as long as it can get the power down. Calibra turbo engine, imagine slightly over 200BHP, in a small car like a Corsa is going to eat the 220ish bhp of the tubby for breakfast.

unless you get a great launch, i cant see you beating it....
i cant imagine you have anymore than 200bhp in your mr2, and in 1250-1300kg, Vs a corsa with a better power to weight, will be very close....

I will !

No traffic light grand prix though on public roads.... tell him to come to a track where it is a safe and controlled environment.

MR2 will grip and go standing start, Corsa will struggle.... mid range, the corsa will go past you due to the shear weight advantage. You'lll find Corsa / Nova turbos pull 13.00 - 13.50 qrt miles most days... if yours is stock, not boosted up... 14.2 qrt mile... thats quite few car lengths ahead ! Boost yours up and you'll be close ... mid 13's if you can drive well ! :D [/code]

Handling wise i cant seeing the CORSA coming any where near the MK2 also the REv1's have alot of torque down low so you never know plus top end even with a heavier car i can still see the REV1 winning as its more aerodynamic

If you spent the kind of money that this blokey with the Corsa has on his engine, and spooged it on engine mods for the MR2 then it would absolutely thrash it!!!!!

Its a silly question tbh - any hatchback with a 2.0+ turbo conversion is bound to be extemely quick, but it is being compared to a practically stock MR2 - £4000 of engine conversion versus an induction kit lol!!

You could post up saying i have given my golf cart a 3.0 V6 with nitrous and a carbon fibre body to shave weight, and then ask the same question!!

It's a shame MR2 Turbo's are so cheap these days.

Seems like all the chavs are getting them. :(

think what yous will. im far from a chav. keep your high and mighty views to yourself and maybe try and drive your car how its designed to be driven, if not im sure a focus would suit you down to the ground.

the corsa is a chav mobille ... i meerly asked incase he smoked me at the track.

im confidient tho

on the street until 3rd (when i backed off becasue dont like very high speed racing on public roads) i had 4-5 car lengths on him.

he said it goes better in 5th tho ?

by then , could he catch me ? time will tell

earl and hicks, that red 'beast' and the white monstrosity are the ulitmate CHAV spec is irrelivant seeing as you dont race similar specc'd cars - in my case a corsa 2.l turbo.

my car(s) have been far from that
