hello ive just got an MR2 MK2 anniversarry edition but...
and this may sound stupid...
i cant work out what the water level is in it. all i can see is a spout
sticking up and dissapearing into the engine somewhere.
can anyone tell me how they check thier water or if im just being dense

fill it till it stays near the cap. run the engine for a few minutes to circulate, top up, repeat till full.

Then check the expansion tank. On the rear left of the engine bay. This should be half full. Basically, half way up the tube thats inside it. Dry it off, put it in, pull it out, check level.

Oh, and don't use water. Get proper 4life stuff from Toyota.

ps It's not a stupid question. The coolant level check is virtually impossible using the marks on the expansion bottle.

Fill from the yellow and silver "radiator cap" in the engine bay, not into the white bottle.

The tube to measure is however in this white expansion bottle - just pop the lid off and the tube mentioned to abive will be attached below it.
