I'm in the market for an MR2 as some people might know.

Has anybody done business with www.rising-sun-imports.co.uk or know if they're any good?

I've been in talks with them today and just wondered before I commit to anything if anyone had any feedback regarding them or could suggest any other importers?

Hi mate

you might also consider

www.nvicars.co.uk
www.japanese-direct-imports.co.uk

Both used a lot by members on here.

Rising Sun used to be an IMOC affiliate but I don't really know anybody who has used them.

Personally would recommend NVI as I just bought a cracking rev3 from them, and they have stock in the country now unlike a lot of other importers.

I used to work with Chris, The cars he gets in are usually of a very high standard, the green MR2 for instance was imaculate.
In my opinion he is a very trustworth guy to do bussiness with.

hope this helps

hey mate

I brought my MR2 turbo from Julian at Japanese Direct Imports.
Awesome customer services, and well, just awesome! Sourced me an awesome car, to the exact spec I was after, and sourced a handful of aftermarket parts through his affiliate Jase @ MTTE. Make a great combo.
Phone him up just for a chat. See what he might be-able to do for you. Nothing to loose!
His number is 07968 336450. Tell him Luke sent ya, and he'll be sure to sort you out!

I would also recommend NVI, I got my rare and immaculate Rev4 through them, Tom's service was excellent.

I'd have no concerns buying a car from NVI, Newera or Rising Sun, you may also want to have a look at http://www.jm-imports.co.uk

Nice article on one of the cars he brought in here:

http://www.chpltd.com/japanese_performance/trex.html

Very good reputation on the Supra forum, the white T88 RX7 he has is very tempting!

All these look good. Just remember imports will always be clocked 99% of the time. Never genuine millage whatever anyone says! I use to be in the trade alot and all importers know this but will cover it up a 15yr old or 10 yr old car will have 100K Miles easy if not more. Don't fall for the silly stories. The engines are good so it can be pulled off.

Thanks Phil, how are you? what you upto now?! Hope the MR2 is running well :D

I think it was another Rising Sun who was an affiliate on here.

Shame my old car is up for sale again, absolutely loved that car and saw it a couple of months ago looking very nice!

Have moved on to a nice orange Supra TT landing early April, so hopefully be at a few shows this year, not in time for Bolney though :(

I think Miks only selling it as he's moving to Dubai. I offered to drive it out for him, but he was having none of it
