Any good???

Where would you hook up the 12V power supply to?? Could you tap into the existing power lighting up the lights? Or would it have to be sourced from elsewhere?

Cheers.

I'm guessing to fit these you would need to tap the OEM sidelight feed?

They are unlikely to be E marked for use here and as a result you could fail an MR2 with them on - the beam pattern may also be an issue.

I saw these before and liked them on first look but not so keen now.

I'm assuming for that price its an insert into your original headlight?
so i doubt beam pattern would be an issue?

Also when you turn on your sidelights do the headlights pop up right away? i thought they would only come up if you had sidelights and then flashed full beam?

They would also look much less cheap if they were not blue and angels eyes that are square will never look right - supposed to be round.

Has anyone seen the quad angel eyes on the shock MR2? - them i really like where can i get them?

Just wondering if anyone had fitted them.

Yeah think it does say that it supplies white bulbs not blue so it wouldn't be such a bright blue which could get you nicked!

Still think it would look good even if it is square.

Well if you put ur lights on (turn the arm all the way round), then turn them 1 down a notch your popups should stay up but main lights off just ur sides.

Why wouldn't beam pattern be different when fitting these? Look at the glass and compare it to the intricate design on the normal units - it's going to cast a different beam and could miss things like the 'kick up' on the right side - most MOT places probably wouldn't care but is it worth the risk just to have some Barryboy headlamps?

For the sake of 30 odd quid this is probably worth a buy. I shall order these up soon just because people don't seem to like them. :P

I look forward to reading the "I failed my MOT" and "why do people keep flashing me because my lights are pointing the wrong way" threads.

He might well enjoy night time superiority over the drivers coming towards him, thinking to himself "that's not my full beam..this is" bang into a ditch they go :)

Think the angel eye style looks best on the rear of a skyline, shame you can't make the rear lights of a 2 look like it.

Besides, having spoken to a couple of traffic coppers I would rather steer clear of blue lights, coz apparently it's their colour and they don't like anyone else having it!

Fail your MOT because of those lights if correctly hooked up? I don't think so.

Aslong as the light is dipped and not blinding other road users AND lights up the road infront, MOT testers would have no reason to fail you.

Your constant need to dig holes for yourself and jump right in them continues to amuse me, carry on :)

Checking the headlamp aim needs special equipment but the object is to ensure the dipped light does not cause dazzle to oncoming traffic. This means the aim must be below the horizontal (e.g taken from the centre of the headlamp unit). Note that the aim will be tested with an assistant seated in the drivers seat so take this into account if you are setting them up on the garage doors!

Some headlights, e.g European 'E' beam, are tested on dip beam whereas others, e.g 7 inch round British American, are tested on main beam.

Vehicles with complex headlamps may need to be moved closer to the beamsetting equipment to provide a "readable" pattern. The Ford Mondeo is one example.

The pattern isn't a fixed pattern set in stone. It has it's maximum allowed limits obviously.
