slightly tuned rev2 tubbie VS civic Type R

Post by bodleytunes »

Recently just fitted an FCD set to cut-off at 15.5ish psi and also a grainger valve. Turned the boost up and it flies now, only thing is dont have a gauge yet so im guessing really! fcd aint cutting anything off so im prollly running between 12-15.5psi :D

anyway just cruising around minding everyones business and about to go home because I see no interesting cars that would be up for a bit of play, sad really!! but hey that life!!

Anyways, I see a civic type R go round the roundabout and so i go right around and chase him to see if he up for it, ...well he is!!

So come t' striaght we both floor it, im well and truely catchin this thing aint got a chance if it carries on like this!! but no, a roundabout so i slow and this thing just doesnt slow and just takes the roundabout like its not there!!

so im back on straight (MY DOMAIN) and im smashin down the happy pedal hearing the jet tubby nxt to me head screaming away and im catchin !! ... but another roundabout :( then he kind of pulls over to let me pass,

so im past him and think wahey!! now we see, and im away hes dropping back not too fast but enough that hes just dwindling away.

Anyway another roundabout comes and hes past! again!! bladdy mr2 handles like crap compared to this civic (or i drive like pansy!) anyways i try to catch up and do but theres some traffic so i let him go off like i looney!!

anyway 12-15psi mr2 tubby WHIPS civic type R ON STRAIGHTS

but i got whipped on the twisties! (which actually resulted in him getting ahead!!)

but i dont care! its straight line performance i want, im like a big fat american dragracer dude !!

my mod list:

hks exhaust (cat still on i think)
hks air filter - probly sucks in hot air
fcd and boost uppage (15psi?)
Avon back tyres (i hear these are bad!)

That is a risk that we all undertake when driving hard. I'm a firm believer in not trying to drive past your own abilitys! My above comment was ment partly in joke. But on a more serious note I believe the MR2 to be every bit as capable in the twistys when the right upgrades have been added

mayb some steroids and id corner faster eh!

but no i was razzin' in it tell thee! any faster and i think i could have lost it.

I dont want to be found a mangled bloumange at the side of the road!! no sireee

... ps my car is totally standard in the brakes and suspension department so i the only place i would really push it to the limit is on a runway or a massive racing track!

your two will be fine on the twisties, get yourself to bonnis hall lane and the cat and fiddle road and get some practice in !!!!

Nar i'll stick to dragways and proper racedays mate!

I only like semi-safe stuff! that roads a recipe for a bodleytunes bloumange or a mangled tubby!

To be fair the Civic Type R does handle very well indeed. Hot hatches have really come on in recent years.

Mr Debes was my form teacher for 4 years, then we had the art teacher mrs. durdle.

Mr. Debes was a brill head teacher, unlike peckham!!

Im on here sometimes, lurkin and postin sometimes, usually im on SXOC mostly!

No i decided to fit my FCD n boostys! but now i have a slipping clutch because of the xtra torque!

Still would like a rev3 turbo though eventually.

Taking my datsun to grimsby on saturday to get 275bhp's worth of turbo fitted :P
