Ever any track days at Thruxton?

Just wandering if IMOC members ever go to Thruxton for track days and also if they allow noise exhausts like mine there?

Thruxton have very strict noise limits which basicaly means trackdays never occur there. So you have bob hope of getting on and more chance of hell freezing over if you have a noisy exhaust from what i hear (on the trackday grapevine).

They doubtless run their own school days, but these are usually using the school's own cars.

Its a shame, because its one of only two circuits in the country i've never ever been to/driven on (the other being pembrey).

They probably have a restriction on how many days they can run cars there, which results in thruxton generally only being used for racing.

Just my 2p - from what I can remember, isn't Thruxton basically a really fast circuit, long fast corners and the nearest you get to bends either side of the pit straight to relieve the monotony?

ive driven around thruxton on a ferrari 360 day and it is a lovely fast track but didnt ask about track days, strange about a low noise restriction as its not really close to anything at all

Yep they run their own 'drive a supercar' type days etc. but not trackdays.

A circuit or airfield doesn't need to be near anything whatsoever for it to cause a noise problem. Its political.
