Changing rear window

Has anybody had to change their rear window? :-k

Was it hard? Will an auto window company do it if i provide the window?

cheers

I haven't heard of many people needing to change their rear window.
Can you tell me why?

they are easy to change.

Just sit in the car, put feet on rear screen (once you have gone round the seal with a flat blade on the inside) and push and it will pop out.

To put the new one in use the 'string' trick. Basically put string round inside the seal then put the window (with seal on it) upto frame and pull the string which will pull the seal aroudn the frame and it will pop back in..

if thats confusing ask any one whos worked in a garage etc about using string.. they ought to know.

yeh I've taken one out but never refitted one.
They're real easy to get out, just take your time, if you don't want to break the old one (& I didn't) then I found it best to remove the glass fro the rubber dow one edge then gently wiggle it out.

fimmo will of course do you a screen to your own design hes on MR2OC site. I would go for a pro fit of the new screen it would be a shame to mess up that tint work

Honestly you won't smash anything! It should take a few seconds really. To ease it slightly just run a flat blade on the inside rubber so its not sticking to the frame. it will pop out, just push with your feet.

The string trick is easy though requires two of you,
