how much does your mk1 cost to run? I'm including all subsideries, fuel, insurance etc

I probably spend £2010 a year on running my car as an everyday car give or take a few quid an aproximate breakdown is £400 on insurance £170 on tax £20 a week on fuel and £400 on servicing/tyres etc (I used to be a mechanic so do all my own work) oh and all the bits I buy on e-bay for her may push it up a little!!

how long is a piece of string?

depends on the mileage you do, whether you do track days, moddifying etc.

but here goes.
i pay about 300 on insurance.
tax - 190or whatever it is.
servicing is about 210 a year
plus MOT fee of around 30
plus work to keep on road of about 500 a year
plus fuel - hate to think
probably costing around 3k in total as i use it quite a bit and have heavy right foot

Insurance £615
Tax for year £as above
Petrol £30 per week (standard week) if going to shows etc need about £50
Mot £45
maintenance and bits and bobs to make her pretty -spent about £300 so far ( not had her a year yet- only since may 05)

Cant think of much else - im sure she'll cost me a pretty penny by the time a year is up - depends what sort of condition your is in really and how much maintaining you have to do

I try not to think about it!

So far this year I've fitted new 2 new front wings, bushings, ball joints, tyres, back box and changed the engine.
