Squeeks and rattles!!

Post by mr2_pj »

Hi there guy's just thought I would see if anyone had some quick fix ideas for some anoying noises inside the cabin??
1) The glovebox rattles all the time
2) The sunroof catch rattles most of the time
3) The little box by my left ear (rhd car) rattles some of the time!!
These things are driving me mad :( so short of supergluing them all shut any ideas??

Oh and one other thing the clutch pedal makes an eccesivly hydraulic noise when depressed is this normal or should it be silent??

Glove box - (silly question, but..) have you checked all the screws are present and tight enough.
my glove box does not close properly - not got round to adjusting it and so it rattles a bit.

There are often many rattles within the car on mine,it's something you learn to live with,or drive yourself mad trying to find where they are coming from!
Most of the time the noise is not coming from where you think it is!
Sorry for not being much help !

You could always try turning the radio up...? Sorry, not much help but I agree with Steve. You never seem to be able to get rid of the squeaks and in the end you don't notice them.

bit odd that you have all these ,as said the glove box and centre box just need adjusting.there is a little movement allowed on the hinges.the sunroof may not be the culprit it could be the metal wind deflector on the front edge or the clip on the right hand side.take the roof out and have a look and see if its all sitting right.my clutch is quiet no hydraulic noise at all, i would suspect its not hydraulic but mechanical.if you need a comparison or a bit of a hand give me a shout.

Ok some good ideas here I am going to adjust the glovebox and centre console box tomorrow (a bit dark now) the sun roof I think is definatly the catch as I can hold it to stop it making noise over bumps!! As for the clutch it sounds very hydraulic to me (if you put your lips togther slight moistness helps leaving a 0.5-1mm gap and blow hardish with out whistling you will get the sound) maybe a seal or somthing is on it's way out??
Thanks for offering help Crazyleg's I might take you up on it one day soon.
