To Paint or not to Paint

Post by alfiembra »

I'm going to replace the front end of my very rusty mk1a over the winter months. I have replacement wings and valance panels, not new parts but in fairly good condition, just need minimal tidying up. My question is there any benefit to getting the parts painted before I fit them or after they're on the car. I'm not going for a full respray but would like to get the bonnet and light covers done at the same time. Lastly is there any other jobs I should be doing while its all stripped down.

Thanks

i would say that it would just make it look a lot tidier if they were all painted together - even if they are the same colour as your car - there might be slight differences if you got the parts from several different cars

you could get the inside of the wings painted first then paint the rest when fitted
