I think we've all nearly 'been there' at some point whilst out driving. The road is smooth and empty, the engine feels like it could pull for England, and the tyres seem like they've got loads more grip than usual. Then...whoosh! Something happens, and you think "Christ - that was lucky".

This guy obviously didn't get the last bit. :(

Could do with more info really, typical bbc website - man dies in car etc etc.

Was he speeding, was it mechanical failure, was he racing another car etc etc.

Half the news, all the time.

Anyway, feel sorry for the guy's family if it was due to speeding etc - wasted life.

If it was mechanical then i'd like to hear the details obviously for us here....

Slow down people!

Love my car every time I get in it, but it's only metal and plastic.

Take care people.

The one on EBay said "My friend is lucky to be alive"... That would indicate that it's a different crash. Plus the EBay one happened over Christmas and this one appears to have happened yesterday.

thats sad - mate of mine from uni died in a car accident 2 yrs ago in february - he was in his mates mr2 and they hit a tree - whole car was mangled - police had the car on show at a local cruise to help people to wise up!

never seen the wreck myself but from wot i heard it was shocking to see the state of the car.

A mate of mine knows a PC who was in attendance at a fatal accident involving an MR2. The bonnet didn't crumple and went through the windscreen, decapitating the driver :(
