[Mk2] [Turbo] MR2 REV 3 Turbo Starts then dies!

Hi all,

So the story goes...

My rev 3 turbo was sat for a few days and when I started it had a pretty bad missfire and would die if I touched the accelerator, check for codes and I had 14 & 22.


I replaced my coil as it was a mess and the ECU temp coolant sensor, both codes have now gone but my car still starts then dies. The odd thing is it starts perfectly, idles quite poorly then the hazards flash and it dies. The EML light comes on when its running but the car doesn't store any codes.

I have pinned fp & b+ and it still did the same thing - I have even Earthed pin 14 on the ECU as per this another thread!

Running out of ideas so any help welcomed here now!

Sounds like a vacuum leak or possibly a sticking idle control valve. But always worth checking the capacitors on the ECU not generally an issue with rev 3 cars but has the same symptoms

Exact issue I had with my old 2, two of the capacitors on the ECU had melted.
