MR2 Turbo T-Bar. After your thoughts. "Bradford"

Post by TurboPete »

I understand that this guy isn't very popular on here. Should anything he sells be avoided at all costs!?

I've done an MOT History check and it mentions the underside corroding and covered in a "substance". Do you think it's rusty and they've just undersealed over the top?

You'd have to take core samples to be sure what was in the layers of strata on the car.

I have never dealt with this bloke, but he makes some very large claims about power figures on the cars he sells, along with very large asking prices.

I think there's been more than one buyer of his machines who have felt more than a little disappointed when they have taken one of these 'uber powaa' cars to another MR2 specialist for work and have been given other opinions on power or build claims of the cars.

Interesting he is aiming at the lower end of the market now.

Thanks for the info.

It has the right look that I'd like but just a shame it's being sold by someone with a bad reputation.

Think I'll keep looking :thumleft:

250-280

My rev 3 tubby had a nur spec exhaust with blitz decat and blitz intake kit and made 262.

And it's probably a cat D as it's had a crash too.

Avoid these clowns like the plague.

When i saw the car my head was saying run away, please run like fook away but my heart told me to buy it. Never ever listen to your heart.

So i ended up buying a REV2 turbo from him up in Bradford. I Had it less than 12hrs when the engine went BOOOOOOOM and no i wasn't even pushing it just normal driving. So the 2nd outing in the car after getting the new engine fitted the drive shafts went clang clang clang and ripped a nice hole in the gearbox.

Then decided i would poly bush the car. Got some spare arms off my mate so my car was off the road as little as possible and sprayed them and did the bushes. When i removed the front arm off my car ready to fit new ones i found that the front plates had the 4 fixing holes opened up into oval shapes so that the arm would go one and the front wheel would look to be in the correct position. I could get 2 fingers between wheel and wing on passenger side and a fist in between wheel and wing on drivers side.

Ended up re-shelling the car.

So yep, if you want to buy from him make sure you have saved up enough extra money to either rebuild the whole car or buy another car within a few days or if your lucky a few weeks.

Unfortunately it seems as if Sh**** is one by one getting his hands on every unbroken 3SGTE MR2 in the country and either just lying to sell them on or totally ruining them to sell on. There was a fresh, totally standard Rev 3 turbo fresh off the boat recently for something like £8000 which would get you a near mint car instead of paying a couple of thou and then the remainder of that 8 just to get the car where you want it. I'm sure there are quite a few left in the southern islands of Japan. They will all rust once over here though.

To be fair, I've bought PARTS from Sh**** in the past and they've been fine. But a car is a much bigger gamble

I mean the guy actually sells fake bride seats, even setup a fake trading company to look like EU distributer for them or some rubbish. I just wouldn't trust him even if once in a while his car for sale isn't a lemon.

It's the same guy who made a so called 'REV5 turbo' from a REV1 Auto shell as when it was registered in the UK being a late import was given a 'W' number plate by the DVLA.

He told me i was speaking out of my ar$e when i challenged him over it. What i failed to tell him was it was me who stripped the REV1 Auto for parts for a mate of mine. Mr Xxxx then purchased the body shell and after 2 or 3 weeks it appears on Ebay as a REV5 Turbo LOL

If you do a search on here you should be able to find the post and photos LOL
