[Mk2] [Generic] TRD wing suppliers

Post by JLW »

Hi Guys

Im wanting to get a TRD wing, I have spoken to both MR2ben and Patrick Chambers, both supply but Patrick is a little bit pricier.
my Gracer skirts were produced by Patrick and he did a good job.
But just wondered if anyone has had any issues with MR2ben stuff ?

No offence to either suppliers, just wanted to check and review suppliers before shelling out close to £200, if there is anyone else you guys know that produce
this particular wing, please let me know.

thanks,

Jordan.

I had a TRD wing from MR2Ben. Needed slight modification to the spoiler post footing, to allow it to sit flush on the boot lid.

In addition, after only a month, cracks started to appear on the joins of the spoiler posts.

I sold it on, and refitted an oem Toyota spoiler. That's the problem with aftermarket fibreglass spoilers. They're subject to vibration/closing boot etc, which results in cracks.

Even my genuine Autopista spoiler I had ages ago started cracking along the join, albeit nowhere near as bad as the copy TRD spoiler.

In addition to the above, cheap copies tend to have a wave/rippled effect across the blade.

Also try Fensport, as they used to stock the full kit.

Hope that helps mate. :thumleft:

Afternoon Pal

yeah I remember you mentioning that, but I really want to go for a TRD
I will give fensport a shout mate, thanks for the heads up on that.

if not then ill probably go down the route of Patrick as he's only 30 minutes from my gaff.

The TRD spoiler looks pretty cool. Would have kept mine if it hadn't started cracking :(
