[Mk2] [Generic] Confusing swap situation

Hi all!

Got a confusing situation. My car is an import Rev 3 NA. The engine it has is a Rev 2 turbo which is blown.

I want to replace it with a rev 3 turbo lump but im not sure what i'd need to make it work where it has a rev 2 in a rev 3 as it is..

My initial thoughts on parts im going to need are engine, gearbox, loom, ancillaries. They are definite. My question is, am I going to need a rev 3 ECU? I'm not sure if they differ from rev 2 to 3 but i assume they do where the rev 3 lack the AFM. I could do with some general info on what would be the best way to do things? I intend on swapping most of my mods from my rev 2 over to the rev 3 when i get it.

I'd be swapping the complete rev 3 in and getting rid of the rev 2 completely

Not much of the rev 2 bits would fit apart from maybe uprated intercooler.

The rev 3 is superior in every way to the rev 2.
