[Mk2] [Turbo] mr2 mk2 turbo bc coilovers spring rates

Post by azznwab »

Hi all im new to this forum i have mk2 turbo rev3 id purchased in December 2015 enjoying the car but have noticed suspension is a little tired up front and doesn't match the rear, black struts up front and yellow bilsteins out back, so i am seriously considering to install some bc coilovers br rh. But i am indecisive on the spring rates. I dont mind losing comfort and ride quality by going for the firmer option, my main reason for upgrade is for the handling. I do understand a higer spring rate doesn't necessarily equal better handling for uk roads though. And i am curious on anyones thoughts on softer springs and higher damping vs firmer spring rates and softer damping.

Any advise on this will be greatly appreciated thanks in advance, aaron

Spring rate options are front/rear 4/6kg/mm or 5/8 kg/mm

Thanks for replys, 4/6 it is then. I am thinking of changing tie rod ends and bottom ball joints at same time.. is there anything else that you think is good idea to change as well. Ps my budget is fairly tight these mods will be seriously breaking the bank so take it easy :pale: :pale: :pale:

I went for the RH kit with 5/8kg springs. I think they're fine but people who sit in my car think the ride is very firm.
