[Mk2] [NA] Part No for AC Compressor for R134A Gas

Post by dinkyboy »

I have a 1991 MR2 MK2 NA SW20 UK spec car. My garage tells me that i will have to replace the compressor to take on the R134A gas. Have already changed the condenser and dryer to the new gas. Could someone please let me know the part number for the compressor and guide me a good place to buy it from. Thanks All links to a website would be appreciated

If going from R12 to R134a I would of thought you'd need new seals throughout the entire AC system as well.

A new compressor is going to cost £££ there is loads cheap on ebay but they are used but you could always buy a seal kit for one and rebuild it.

As far as I am aware, you don't need to change the compressor, just the type of oil inside it.
