As you can see it's a bit of a state.
For some reason there is no relays in the electric window control circuit and all current flows through those contacts hence the state of them, I cleaned the contacts up refitted and was all good. However given the amount of wear on the contact pads I ordered a new switch assembly (from aliexpress) and upon taking a look inside it is a much more modern design and incorporates 2 relays inside the assembly.
The only drawback is I have lost the backlight/led for the passenger window and door lock mechanism but with a little modding that should be easy enough to sort out.
