New Car Restoration Show for ITV Looking to Help [email protected]

Post by NorthOneTV »

Is your beloved project rusting away in the garage? Have you bitten off more than you can chew modding your motor? We could be the answer to your prayers.

North One Television, makers of Speed With Guy Martin, The Gadget Show and Fifth Gear have been asked by ITV1 to make a brand new UK primetime car restoration show and we want to hear about your projects.

We understand that you may not have the time or finances to dedicate to your prized ride; so our team of elite mechanics are standing by to give it the mechanical makeover it so desperately deserves.

Interested? Keen for you and your car to be on UK TV?

Then please get in touch with details of the car including a picture, a paragraph about yourself and why you deserve to be on the show.

Hi seen this posted on retro rides forum, wasn't sure if it was legit because it was posted on April 1st.

Might have to think about it.

I bit....and had an email last night. They're going to ring me today some time. One slight worry, the email was entitled "Car Rescue" similar to the channel 5 programme "Classic Car Rescue" with Bernie Fineman....the guy that put together that lovely "custom" Saab for Martin Kemp

It could just be a coincidence......Bernie worked for Channel 5 and this is ITV. I'll keep you informed.

I'm having 2nd thoughts anyway as I was looking forward to doing the work myself and want it done right :-k I don't really want to go on TV either, I've asked my son if he fancies doing it. Still......I'll see what the score is first and take it from there.

They're probably trying to get as many responses as possible, so there will be thousands of applicants. Don't be too suprised if you don't get much of a response.

It also says about a mechanical make over rather than cosmetic. Most MK1s need cosmetic work I'd say!

I heard on the radio this morning that Clarkson has announced he's doing a new car-based prog. Obviously, it won't be any type of restoration based thing though.
I think that "Chasing Classic Cars" could be good if it was based in Europe and they showed more of what happens in the garage and less of the money/auction side.

If you're still unsure, this is for real. I did get a call but I was too busy at the time and asked if he could ring back an hour later but he never did. I looked up the number and it is a TV production company.

I'm still interested, will just have to see if he gets back or not.
