Having trouble finding a replacement exhaust for my Rev 4 MR2.
Looking for a OEM or "standard replacement" cat back system for not silly money. Any ideas where I could get one from?
Tried eBay but they are all either for Rev 1/2 or chrome performance ones with silly price tags. Local Allparts wants £250 for a standard one!

Well if you want a new one £250 + is reasonable as they are quite expensive things to produce
Re: The hunt for an exhaust
mr2ben does one for about £160 (non-turbo) - http://www.mr2-ben.co.uk/products/view/ ... -1989-1999
Re: The hunt for an exhaust
Bought this one in the end as it's a fairly good price and comes with the cat.

Let us know how it is when you've got it fitted. The reviews I've heard about the split silencer OE replacement box are quite poor.
Re: The hunt for an exhaust
I had same prob a couple of years ago, OE is silly money, I went for a Mongoose, similar sound and look to OE, only issue for me is that pipes don't quite sit flush, would still recommend. Prices vary too so have a good look round, mine came from Rogue.

Re: The hunt for an exhaust
Can anyone confirm that the end box on this is a catalytic converter? Bit confused by one of the feedback comments for the seller.

Re: The hunt for an exhaust
It certainly looks like one. Interesting that it's actually welded onto the backbox though.
Re: The hunt for an exhaust
That looks more like the standard resonator box the rev1's had before they started using cats

I hope you are wrong!
Re: The hunt for an exhaust
I have one of these in the garage I'll take a look now.
Re: The hunt for an exhaust
Okay the one I had but replaced with a Mongoose looks exactly the same made by euroflow but doesn't have the small cat like box, I had to have a Cat fitted as well.
The top picture shows the box I haven't got are you sure it's included?
Reason I changed to Mongoose was that ever since it was fitted it seemed to effect the running from cold, hard to explain but felt like the car was suddenly being held back, I described it as feeling like someone had lassooed the car, next second it was fine. I changed just about every sensor but the problem continued until I changed the exhaust now no issues at all.
I also failed the MOT on emissions due to the rubbish CAT I had but it's hard to find one half decent, they are either very cheap or Toyota price £600, hence why I have another cheap one which passed the MOT this year.
The fit was good but oddly on cold morning you get nearly all the steam out of just the right pipe which again made me feel something not right with the exhaust.
Hope it was just mine and yours is okay.

Ps just seen the second item on the eBay link that is exactly the same as mine.
