I thought people did it to make changing the filter easier?

It also helps with oil cooling

Just interested really! Never heard of filter location before causing an issue on any car - learning every day

The above is the reason I am interested. My down pipe is about 1cm away from the filter, not ideal at all.
Could try some sort of heat shield, but easier to relocate the filter I'd have thought.

Cheers,

John

Are you doing some sort of endurance track work? Seems like a waste of money for a non issue.
