What wheels will fit the Mk1?

Post by TToP »

Hiya peeps,

im not after fitting any fancy wheels, just need some with ok tyres to use until i can afford new tyres for the originals, have spotted some on ebay with a PCD of 4x100 but the offset is 35, would these fit? im told they should be ET45, is that right? does anybody have any old wheels and tyres they want to get rid of? as long as they are cheap, fit and are road legal im not fussed on condition or style.

An offset of 35 would probably be OK - they are 38 on my MK1 but to be frank a mm either way isn't too worrying. I think it's normally 37-39.

What size are they? 15.7 or 15x6.5? Don't go for more than 7 or less than 6.5 IMHO. And don't forget to consider the centre bore.

they were 13" but ive just found 4 14" fiat wheels with 185/60 tyres which i beleive are the right size for the standard wheels so ill just get them swapped over :D

On twobrutal.co.uk we collected a list of cars with the same pcd and 'similar' centre bore to the mk1 MR2... maybe it's of some use to folks when looking at second hand wheels? ....

Are you sure?
Toyota Corolla 85-01 4x100 35-45 54.1

I've always thought the Corolla is 4 x 114.3 PCD.
(In fact I just checked and it is....)

All the lists I've found say 4x100 for the Corolla.

I've spoken to the AE86/corolla guys on Driftworks - they are adamant 114.3 pcd. Have a search on there and you'll see what I mean.

I would be very surprised if the AE86 had a PCD of 114.3

The AE82 had 4 X 100, the AE92 had 4 X 100 and every other corrola since (IIRC, all the corollas before the AE82 also had 4 X 100 - I had a 1973 corrola which I am pretty sure was 4 X 100, but not 100% as it was a very long time ago). I would be surprised if they changed it purely for the 86.

I really don't know mate - it's just that I've searched several AE86 wheels for sale and they are always advertised without fail as that and not 100.
