[Mk2] [Turbo] Seats - Anyone tried fitting Scooby seats in a MR2? Is it possible?

Post by MUGENMR2 »

As per the title, I need some better seats for my MK2 MR2, as mine are shot. I like the look of the Impreza seats with blue alcantara in the middle and I think they would suit the car quite well, however will they fit straught in or would it be too much hassle? Has anyone done it before?

Thanks

You need to find put how they mount. It's unlikely the subaru runners will fit straight in you'd probably need to unmount the seats and fabricate a way of fitting them to mr2 rails. Mr2 rails are quite simply to adapt to a range of fitments

I really wouldn't recommend the Newage STI seats - they're not all that supportive and after spending an hour in traffic my back was absolutely killing! Soon swapped them out for OMP buckets.

I can however vouch for Recaro Speeds - I've got a pair of red DC2 seats in my MR2 which are brilliant. You'll probably need to get some rails made though - I fabricated my own.

They're great! How hard were they to mount?

Cheers mate.

Regarding fitment queries, best to speak to the guy who fabricated the rails/fitted the seats. Peter Gidden @ Sbits: 07710648257

I've got evo iv seats in mine
after struggling to make some sort of brackets for days I soon realised it was a lot easier to use the standard rails that were then drilled and bolted into position

Once I figured out what to do it took me about an hour to get them to fit.
and they are very comfy.

Evo seats will fit on factory mr2 recaro subframes which is how I fitted my evo seats before fitting my sr5s on them
