My first car - yellow Rev 3 N/A

Post by Mcflurry »

Hi everyone, first post here. Been lurking for a little while getting some inspiration etc.

Bought my MR2 at the start of the Summer to replace the family Corsa I've been plodding round in. Massive fan of all the quirky little details, and apart from the slightly rocky slow speed ride it's really rather comfortable.

Will be popping it in the garage for winter soon enough, it's just too nice to leave outside. I'm looking to get rid of the chinese knock off wheels and swap them for some better 16s, maybe Enkei RP01s or some Rota slipstreams. I have the standard wheels at home but they're a little small for me.

How many yellow MR2s do we reckon there are left in the UK? Have seen a few on ebay etc, but not 'loads'.

Mine is yellow, always wanted a yellow one, bit of an aquired taste hence the rarity! Welcome to the club mate :)

Ha be patient guys, the photos will be here when my post count allows me!

I say chinese knock off, because they are not TUV stamped, and the brand name on the centre cap is untraceable on google.

I assume they made their way over on an import vehicle but I can't be sure.

Just spam a few posts in here mate to get your post count up, I don't think anyone will mind :)

Love Rev3's in yellow, especially with a few black bits on them. They look ace! Need a lot of looking after to keep the fading at bay.

This is one of my all time favourite MR2's:

Let the spamming commence!

My tastes lean more towards the OEM-esque end of the spectrum, but i can still see the appeal in track weapons. If I can help it I want to keep the wheels silver but Rota and the like only tend to sell the wheels i want in black.

Type into google 'yellow mr2 rpf1' and you'll see my dream MR2 at the top.

Yep that one. Boy I'd give several limbs for some Enkei RPf1s.

Looks good! Keep an eye on the DriftWorks forums, a lot of nice JDM wheels pass through there. RPF1's are a rare find in the UK though as a 2nd hand item.

I get a fair amount of grief for having a yellow car but I don't really care, as for wheels, I think RP01s are the nicest wheels available for the Mr2, they almost look as though they could be OEM. I had to get rid of them as my big brake kit wouldn't fit under them :( :(

EDIT: Just noticed your pics, that is really really clean!!! apart from the wheels it looks amazing bud :thumleft:

That's the setup i want! Just with silver wheels. Assume they're staggered 16s?

Those would look amazing on a Yellow MR2. Quite expensive, but as long as you look after them you shouldnt lose money on them.

Yeah 16s, 7 and 8 inch wide. I sold them to a Donato on here, he was selling them a while back. Might still have them give him a pm. Also ask him the width, they may have been 8 and 9 inch wide, deffo staggered though.

Agreed with Sheppy. Possibly the best wheels you can get for the MR2. The look superb. I got rid of mine because they didn't suit the look i was after, needed 17" really. Otherwise i would of kept them.

They were just over 6KG a wheel, i think and were - Front - 16"x7" ET35 Rear - 16"x8" ET38. So a perfect fitment too.
