350bhp/392 torques

Post by porscheeater »

I had a play in a 350bhp rev2 turbo today which was fun :D
now the owner claims that this car has standard internals, injectors and turbo
he is using a boost controller and a upgraded fuel pump.

now i am not calling him a liar but.... is this achievable on standard internals etc???

It is, however the injectors are near their limits. This has been discussed on here with JDs car making 340bhp (apparently more like 360 in colder air). Also discussed briefly was if forged pistons were even needed as there was no detonation. Aftermarket ECU would be needed though.

Apologies, assumed you were talking about a rev3. On a rev2 it's pretty doubtful. The injectors are completely maxed out. The turbo is also puffed out at about 1 bar. It's said that it blows hot air after that. I'm willing to bet his car is running less than 290bhp.

He is exaggerating by like 100hp!!

Stock ct26 turbo on a rev2, 350, please!! Total BS.

260hp at best.

Well I thought it may have been a little sugar coated.
It was quicker than my stock rev2 a lot quicker 😔

I want mine to be around that power. I don't want to rebuild the lump with forged pistons and things unless I have to. Meaning until I destroy it.

I have the following parts here ready to fit
tubular manifold
Decat pipe
I haven't decided on the rest of the system twin or single exit.
Boost controller
Apexi ecu
I have a TD05-20G from my old scooby I know my old 16G was good for 350horses in the scoob so this should be more than enough.

Things I think I need.
Injectors
Fuel pump
Intercooler or chargecooler

The difference between a few bolt on mods and a stock car is tremendous on these things.

I'm assuming you still have the stock ecu? This is not mappable so you will also need an engine management system so you can control the fuel flow.
What size injectors are you going for?

If you are going for 550 injectors I'd consider selling your rev 2 and getting a rev 3 it will be cheaper and if your lucky it will have an uprated i/c and decat.

260bhp in these is plenty man, i was never ever bored of the power in my rev2! If anything it felt more brutal than my rev3!!

Only way to make a rev2 more powerful than standard surely would be, exhaust, downpipe, induction, ic and weight loss.. After that it would be ecu and fuel management, and bigger upgrades.
Even if he did use a boost controller on standard ecu it would hit fuel cut not much more than standard boost pressure!
I did have a rev2 with just exhaust and downpipe and it did feel like it packed more punch than when my rev3 turbo was standard though

Don't forget to check your headgasket if you want to increase the boost

Rev1 and Rev2 have paper headgasket

Totally agree with this ^^ I was running polished and ported ct20b (huge wategate) hks vpc, mines ecu, upgraded intercooler, water/meth, 12v mod tuned using a 1 to 1 fuel pressure regulator and afc, plus exhaust, downpipe and airfilter.
290bhp's were I think I was at @1.1/1.2 bar :thumleft: 350 is crazy talk :cyclops:

rev3s with bolt ons barely break 300bhp. admittedly, the way the CT26 delivers power (until it tails off) is pretty impressive. I can see why it's easy to exaggerate the power.
