Supercharger alternator

Hi my alternator has packed up left it to a guy to recon has it 3 weeks now and says it can't be fixed can anyone help me out as were I could get one As I have missed three car shows already and want to get her out soon as thanks stew.

Take it elsewhere, he doesn't know what he's doing.

Hi he says there is one part that he can't get so don't know what to do any one out there with one lying about ? Thanks for the reply

What part? Functionally the sc alternator isn't massively different from an n/a one. The main casting is a mirror image as it mounts on the opposite side of the engine and the wiring with regard to the regulator is different as the sc is somewhat unusual in having an external regulator. I doubt the issue is insurmountable though if you can give us more details.

I agree, it should be a formality to fix the old one, i bet it's the external regulator that has failed.

when I had my first alternator reconditioned, the rotor or its coil was bust and was really hard to find a replacement. everything else was a p1$$ of cake but finding the correct rotor was what took almost 3 months. i bet someone else would call it beyond repair for simplicity's sake.

Hi called with the guy today and took a picture of part but can't get it to upload we're the wire goes into the back of the altanator they are soldered on to this part he says is burnt out and can't be got sorry might not make sense will try pics tomorrow again thanks

Got it fixed left it to a guy called j McNeil in ballymena very helpful he got it on a Tuesday and had it fixed on a Wednesday thank you all for your help
