MRK1b almost back on the road

Well after 8 years of ownership the last 3 of which she has been off the road, I just could not bring myself to sell her. So I plough some more money into her

Ah well it's only money, you cannot take it with you. Cannot wait to get here back, should be the end of the month, although it has been "the end of the month" for the last 3 months.

Anyone know where I can get hold of the proper colour code for the tear drop alloys please?

theyre such good little cars theyre worth the time and effort ,just a bloody shame they didnt paint them better at the factory ,mines totally original and under the carpet theres just primer and its really thin ,you can rub it off with your finger nail lol I can imagine the inside panels of the car are the same

no wonder they rusted

get another one back on the road !!! be nice to see another mr2 running around being enjoyed amonst the horrible eurobox crash test pedestrian collison friendly huge deep dashboard and silly front end crap thats on the roads

I once met an ex Toyota Quality Assurance engineer who was a junior guy on the Mk1 development. He told me they benchmarked the body panels on the Delorean! Maybe they did forget the paint?

Are you aware the wheels were two colours, with silver and then gunmetal grey
in the tear drops.

I couldn't find the code either when I did my wheels so I used Toyota 141 in the tear drops which is a silver with a tiny hint off gold and almost flips in different light but very subtley. It was a common colour on the Carina back in the 80's.
The main bit I just bared back to metal and polish it alot.

They look really well, hoping I can put back to standard though. Might have to buy an original wheel just to colour match I think

Picking up the car tonight. 3 years off the road and strait through an MOT. Got to love this car.

Sticker kit on order, still need to sort out those dam wheels though
