Ct26 turbo on rev 3

Post by samgpr50 »

Hi everyone,

Looks like I have a bad turbo and was wondering if anyone had tried this? The only reason I am thinking about it is because I have a 26 being given to me. Thanks.

Be an interesting prospect. Rev3 engine can rev better than rev2, could the ct26 keep up?

My old rev 2 turbo (pretty much standard) couldn't really boost well to the redline with the CT26.

Have driven a stock rev3 with a ct26 fitted and to be honest it felt gutless up to around 4000rpm and then to around 7000rpm it pulled sort of ok-ish.. There was certainly a noticeable difference lower in the rev range!

Theres a hybrid CT26 for sale in the classifieds for a decent price.........

Wouldnt bother with a standard CT26 on a rev3 though.

Thanks for the replies. It's looking like it won't keep up. I do have a nice boost controller but I'm still not sure it would do the job. :(

Was only even thinking about it because I am being given a 26. If I am buying I will get another 20. Will have to wait a while mot in the next couple of weeks.

What boost is that running? Mine wouldn't be a hybrid but interested to see what can be done with them.

Ahhh I see so pretty much what mine made on the last dyno. I'm running 1.2 now and don't want to have to turn it down.

Mine did too but the problem is the power drops dramatically after 6000 rpm so even though your boost gauge is showing 11.5 psi at 6500 rpm your making less power than you did at 5500 rpm

Samgpr50 if the ct26 is not hybrid you will be losing power end of ! And can only turn it up to 1 bar

Ct20b also spools faster than the ct26

Thank you that's basically what I thought might happen. I guess I need to see how mine goes and if I have to money to replace it properly before mine gives up for good.
