door hinges/pins

Post by chrismanchr »

my doors have a little drop in them both sides and let water in the tbar roof

it seems the door pins/bushs on the hinges are worn and have a little play
anybody know a good permanent fix for this rather than the washer behind the hinge bodge

Unfortunately eBay is almost worthless now as a source of mk1 parts. A combination of eBay's policies driving away the casual seller combined with the big 2 'Commercial' breakers cornering the market make for a very limited range of options.

If you were to contact either of the 2 breakers they'll probably have some hinges even if they're not listed although personally I wouldn't pay their prices or support their business as I don't agree with the way they've driven up the prices of used parts. They often charge ridiculous prices for the kind of parts that only a few years ago people with a breaker on their drive would almost give away.

Totally agree with that :thumleft:

You could try to hunt down a car in a local scrapyard :-k

Not easy though

I have no idea if Toyota would still have some of these lying around but I would try there just in case.

I managed to get a rare wheel arch extension trim for my AE86, which suprised me as it's an option part.
