What's this wire for? Engine bay...pics

1987 supercharger...

I've discovered this wire is not connected to anything. I just put some tape over the ends. Anyone know what it's for?

I think that might be for the A/C compressor as it's down there and if A/C has been removed you won't need that connection anymore.

That could explain why the AC doesn't work, the compressor is still in there.

Can anyone confirm and maybe take a pic of where this goes?

Yup, its definitely for the AC compressor.

The AC compressor has two plugs on leads.

It has the blue one you've shown, and it has a square white/clear plug.

Both of those leads run up the exposed side of the compressor (forward side).

Lads, just getting round to trying to mend this now. I found where it broke coming from the AC compressor. What kind of gauge wire will I get to join these back up?
I've never done any wiring apart from the odd speaker, but this shouldn't be too difficult to crimp 2 wires so I'll give it a whack...

Solder and heat shrink. Never use crimps...waste of time.
Just use same size wire as repairing to.
