[Mk2] [Turbo] Rev3 NA Turbo Swap No speedo

Post by rob6539 »

Hi guys

I'm in the process of finishing a rev3 Turbo engine swap into a rev3 NA body and I currently don't have a working speedo.

I've read on previous threads that the turbo loom runs the speedo wire down the passenger side to the footwell, however the NA speedo wire runs down the centre console.

Does anyone know, firstly if this is correct, and secondly which wires of the two looms I need to splice together?

Any advice or pointers would be very much appreciated.

Thank you as always.

Just to confirm, as i've posted repeatedly over the years, you haven't changed the body loom have you.

Hi Peter

No, I’ve retained the NA body loom. I was told before the engine swap that the two looms would be plug and play, but unfortunately that’s not quite the case.

No turbo conversions are 100% plug and play.

Since you've kept your body loom ( :thumleft: ), your wiring issue is not in the body tub - think about it - where the wiring routes once in the body loom is irrelephant since you've not changed any of it.

Check out the "4th ECU plug", the plug to the LHS of the ECU. I suspect you'll find a violet wire in the body side of the plug. That needs joining to the speedo signal wire in the engine loom.
