[Mk2] [Turbo] Keep blowing my vent fuse

Post by Grazzy »

Good afternoon all,

On Thursday last week I had my cam belt, alternator belt & air con belt replaced & also had the turbo changed from a CT26 to an CT20. I seem to be getting an issue with the intercooler fan. Its been wired to be on 100% of the time.

Ive checked the Vent relay seems fine and very clean, I replaced the fuse fan kicked in, took it down the road hit full boost blow the 20A fuse again.

Also the newer turbo is pushing a little more boost than the other one. 13.5psi instead of 10.5psi on the old one. not sure if this has anything to do with it all. just listing whats changed.

any idea's what this could be causing the fuse to pop? I'm taking back the garage tomorrow. just trying to work out if i need to buy anything to resolve the problem.

Before or after the garage did all of the recent work?

Hi Peter,

This is after the work. the intercooler is a Greddy SMIC with an SPAL fan connected. its been fine the last 4 months. when the intercooler was fitted.

Afternoon All,

Just had a call from the garage, section of perished wire on the connector going to the loom.

Shame the dry nice weather disappeared :(
