[Mk2] [Turbo] Clutch adjustment query

Post by Jonnytatt »

http://www.mr2oc.co.uk/know-your-2-know ... kbartid=12

Its a link to the clutch adjustment i have one question.

Sorry for the link, in this link its explained that you pull the pin and remove the bar from the pedal, then the whole push rod thing comes away from the pedal in order to adjust clutch bite point by turning the head of the rod.

But just by unlocking the 12mm nut, you can turn the push rod by hand if you have the man strength to grip it and not pull the pin and mess about.

Have i fubar'd the rod or does it make literally not even the slightest hand of difference.

putting that rod in and out should make a hell of a difference.
you are talking turning 3-5 revs though.

i recently adjusted mine as i felt the bite was too low.

but yes, you dont need to remove anything, simply undo the locking bolt and twist the bar.
BUT you need to be aware and adjust the clutch height also so the play is the same.

Cheers Jim i have adjusted it so my bite was higher i felt like i had no clutch.
Also had difficulty engaging second and sometimes first.
I was just curious to as which method out of the link and just turning the rod!
Like was there a right and wrong way but thinking about it they are both identical.

Cheers ive adjusted the stopper

90% will turn freely once the locker is undone. No probs there. The bgb is full of unnecessary steps. Just be just there is free play,ie the pedal goes down a little without the piston moving

I have adjusted it , still having issues with selecting second,
Almost as if when you change slowly you can feel then gear.
Its notchy and like its jumping back of the teeth.

Its not a syncro i dont think as its intermittant and not always, goes at high rpm.
Used to go if went 1st - N - 2nd - ( now thats intermittent)

Also fitted solid bushes .
MT-90 & ive span the ally square block.

Another issue is 1 3 5 gears have no play in the stick.

2 4 have like 5/8mm back and forth play.

Pacific works do you have a idea?
