Poor service regarding mk1 parts

Post by widster »

Can I ask whether it is ok for me to name someone on here who has provided me with poor service regarding the ordering of some secondhand mk1 parts? I have nothing to gain other than advising others on here of this person and to be careful when using their services?

IF you have tried to resolve your issue with the supplier, and not been satisified with the supplier's response, then post your experience in Trader Feedback.

DO NOT post in Trader Feedback if you have not tried to resolve your issue since the problem occured.

Thanks Peter. I'm awaiting a reply to my email pointing out my dissatisfaction with the service and quality of the parts. I'll only post if they don't respond or if it isn't satisfactory.

Completely unfair on the trader involved until he is given fair chance to redeem the situation.... or should we hang him first and ask questions later? By which time the negative comments will be all over Google and will stay there forever.

If the trader is at fault and does not redeem then by all means make it known, but then only in the trader feedback section and even then only the customer and trader may comment.

It really is nobody elses business.

I've now had a response from the trader so hopefully the matter will be resolved but if not then I'll post the details. It wouldn't be fair to name them without first giving them chance to correct the problems.

My profuse apologies.

I naturally assumed that had you read my post stating quite clearly that forum rules prohibit the OP naming the supplier until certain conditions were met, and the OP's subsequent reply, that your reply would not have been as it was.

Try re-reading your own post Peter

It says nothing about forum rules

Naturally I obey all such rules to the letter

And would not dream of suggesting that anyone else should act differently

why ask on here first if you hadn't approached the trader first?

Quite possible that he had contacted the trader but they declined to reply.

@ woodsport, it may be other peoples business to be warned about a trader, but not their business to comment unless they are involved.

I have seen some pretty nasty looking parts offered on ebay by companies, very rusted suspension components with non matching written description - at least they showed pics I guess.

I had contacted him but he hadn't replied so I wanted to know the correct way to mention dissatisfaction with a trader mainly so others would be aware. I took Peter's advice and contacted the trader again and he has now replied. He's apologised for the poor service and has offered to replace the dodgy part he sent me so all being well this matter will be closed. If he doesn't do as he says then I may decide to put a note in the trader section but hopefully it won't come to that.
