Symptoms are that even after a prolonged drive on the motorway the temperature gauge doesn't go above 1/4 full scale (normally sits at 1/2). When I stop the car and turn off the engine, then come back to it a few minutes later and start it up the gauge is at 1/2.I suspect that the thermostat is stuck fully open.
Unfortunatly I've got no time and need the car for work (we're completing a product and I'm working every day all day for the next month). Now the manual seems to suggest that the thermostat has a 'pin' which is exposed outside the thermostat - I figure that if I can reach this and give it a light tap it might loosen it? Can't see where the thermostat is located (I think it's under the ECU and dash temperature sensors somewhere), otherwise I'd have given this a go anyway!
