Ct26 turbo replacement

Post by audicab26 »

Hi
I am stripping out all the ancillaries on my 92 rev 2 turbo because the car is being converted to a 360 replica and I want everything A1 and then I know I am less likely to get problems latter all hoses gaskets HFH etc are being replaced, I am not trying to build a road burner I am happy to get the car running around 230-250 bhp. I have fitted a new SMIC and fan all the exhaust is being wrapped the intake cone has been baffled away from the engine so it's only pulling cold air. All ignition and sender units are being renewed. All oils and fluids have been replaced. The part I am struggling with is the turbo in so far as do i buy a rebuild kit for £50 on eBay and refurb myself, do I buy a £400 cartridge? Do I buy a £250 rebuilt unit from the USA. Soooo many choices all I want to achieve is a reliable CT26 and be confident that I won't get any problems can anyone advise me on the best and most cost effective way to go
Thanks
