[Mk2] [Turbo] Just fitted aftermarket intercooler and decat

As above, fitted new intercooler and decat with boost set at 1 bar on my rev 2. I gave it full throttle and boost gauge does reach 1 bar but the suction of air seems to be a lot louder from behind head. Is this normal? Couldn't have a boost leak could I if boost does go to 1 bar? paranoid as my bottom ebay intercooler hose blew off which I have now fixed I hope.

i have the same issue turbo stutters but only in 4th and 5th gear all other gear boost fine i think it could be the cheapo downpipe and the wastegate is catching/fouling on dp ???

Yeah as far as I know. I'll check again tomorrow. Why do u ask?

Just checked. Boost is fine 1st to 3rd.

You can still have a boost leak even if its making your target boost. The turbo will just have to spin harder to make up for the escaping air.

If the waste gate was catching the downpipe then it would over boost.
