[Mk2] [Turbo] What bhp would my rev2 turbo roughly be?
Have a rev2 turbo with ct26. Shortly it will have uprated intercooler, berk decat, twin exit Motoria exhaust, high flow filter and boost raised to 14 psi. Without going on a dyno, what bhp am I looking at roughly, assuming engine etc.. is all going well. 270??
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What bhp would my rev2 turbo roughly be?
I'm going to say 230-240
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What bhp would my rev2 turbo roughly be?
But you you've probably lost that over 20 years before you even start.

Why would a car loose power over the years? If its well maintained and all the ECU sensors are functioning then it should still be making stock power.
I know my MR2 tuyrob which is bone stock and running well with 91k made the exact factory figures on a rolling road that is known to be a bit of a heartbreaker.
To the OP, these are more or less the mods I intend to do and I would be happy with 250bhp. I cant see it being much more as they are all pretty basic mods.

I'd guesstimate around 270 providing the engine is well maintained/healthy.
Obviously no substitute for a dyno session.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What bhp would my rev2 turbo roughly be?
I will say it only once If a rev3 is 240hp at 14psi, How can a rev2 be 270hp at 14psi.

Pub figures! If you're spending all this money modding it for more power, may as well pay the few quid for a dyno run, no?

What do the numbers really matter??
Surely it's more how the car feels and drives with the power it has
I have a mk1 with a rev2 engine all of te above mods and ic done
Not sure what power it's running and don't really care
It's fast very fast but stable drives well with it idles properly and quicker than standard
Just enjoy it add a bit more power if you feel it needs it
Don't go number chasing
I have done it before just gets expensive and unenjoyable
If any one asks what power just say "enough"
Or anywhere between 240-270
No one hear can be accurate as every engine is different
Rr is only exact method but you can end up disappointed when you were happy with your car just because of a number

The flip side is you can end up ecstatic about your car when given the number (this happened to me this weekend)
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What bhp would my rev2 turbo roughly be?
I'm going to say 275. The whole thing is completely useless if a representative before and after shot isn't given on the same dyno though.

Generally speaking Toyota engines do manage to keep most of their horsepower even after a lot of miles if everything is in order.
I'd say if a rev 2 is running on 99 fuel and all is good should get 260 at a bar.
Nippy enough for most and a handful in the wet.

My rev2 was hitting 250hp at 4800rpm running just 12psi . Unfortunately it was running lean at the time so the operator quite rightly wouldn't rev it any higher and abandoned the run. That was at Interpro near Bristol, pretty well regarded when it comes to rolling road tuning/analysis.
My car has a hybrid ct26, GReddy SMIC, HKS Induction Kit, gutted cat and Blitz Nur Spec exhaust. Power output is determined by more than just turbo boost pressure.
