Hi all

Post by lee66 »

Hi all, this is my first post \:D/ Been lurking on and off this foru for years as ive always wanted an mr2 turbo but never ended up getting one..
Recently (accidentally  I was actually looking for a van ) I bought myself an 1993 rev2 tintop turbo that needs a bit of tlc (got it for a cheap/fair price).
Ive not even had chance to drive the car yet lol (not insured) but hopefully I should be getting it back from the garage after work tomorrow, ive had one of the sills repaired and im getting 12 months mot put on it.
I know the car has got a few issues at the moment (mainly changing gears), and the bodywork needs a few area's tidying up but overall its not a bad car. I plan to try and learn abit and give most things a go myself over the next few weeks/months/years? to hopefully save me a few quid and fingers crossed it will all turn out ok :)

Will get some pics up and start a profile as soon as my post count lets me :)

Anyway thanks for reading, im sure you will hear more from me lol.
Cheers, Lee

Hi Lee,good luck with your turbo project.I Bet you cannot wait to drive it.
I have a list of things to do to my newly bought Mr2 but just want to drive it rather than tackle the jobs.

Hi,

Would like to ask does any one know good specialist (on MR2 turbos) as mine do not want to run as it should be. do not want to take to just any garage as this will be waste of time and money.
I based in Hull East Yorkshire ]

Will appreciate your help.

Cheers mate :thumleft:
Lol I was after buying a little Pug Expert sized van to lug my ktm and fishing gear about in, then spotted this little gem which was ending in less than 30 mins and wasnt too far away so thought f*%k it why not and shoved an impulse bid on it lol. If it turned out a lemon I was going to break it for parts.
(my bike is now up for sale/prov sold to pay to fix/mod my 2 )

Thanks mate :thumleft:
Yeah I cant wait to drive it! Hoping it wont be too long anyway...
I drove it slowly in a car park to make sure there was no knocks bangs smoke etc before handing my cash over, then I sat passenger as my old man drove it home for me (he is insured) and its been in the garage since.. so I have kind of had a little go in it (if you can call it that ).

I know the feeling mate lol its never ending isnt it! Ive got a fair bit to do before I plan to drive it unfortunatly.
I need to sort the bodywork out as the sill will need filling and painting so might aswell do the rest whilst im at it. Also need to sort the gear changes out and give it a decent service (plus find any other problems in the meanwhile)

edit: just noticed this is your first post aswell so welcome here mate, lets be newbies together lol :thumleft:

Wounded, just got off the phone to the garage and my car isnt finished yet.
They have started welding today but they have ran out of gas and cant finish patching my sill until tomorrow.
They havent done the other work I need doing either so im starting to doubt getting it back for Saturday (my only day off work for a couple of weeks)
