Simply put I used to own this car, I would like to consider having it back. Has not been taxed or insured in years and cannot track it down for the life if me.
Have tried dvla but they say wanting it back isn't a good enough reason to give out the information and won't forward a letter to the current owner.

Any help appreciated in locating car as I put loads if blood and sweat into building it along with rogue.

Sold to a guy in reading area.

No one yet ? This is depressing. What about any of the guys from Rogue ? Incase he kept history up together.

What would be a good reason for DVLA to give you the owner's details or to contact him on your behalf?

I have an idea but it may not be very ethical... you could say that your car has been badly scratched at a car park in Reading and you have a witness that saw a car with that registration number.

Or the other way around - you could say that you've scratched that MR2 and you'd like to get in touch with the owner to pay for the damage :thumleft:

£5000 fine for telling fibs. They are the only acceptable reasons though. As car not insured or taxed I don't want to get the poor guy arrested.

It will end fine its nothing illegal. Found name on receipt of sale and cross referenced with electoral role. Due to a friend I managed to skip paying for credits to search.

Question is would you write, call or visit the person to find out. Whats less intrusive.
