Sell or break?
Since I bought my rev 1 turbo, my rev1 na has been sat feeling sorry for itself. I've been offered 200 pounds minus alloys and stainless decat back box for them to break. I've thought about putting it on eBay but I know this can be a lot of hassle. Does anybody have any good ideas what is the best thing to do?

Why don't you sell it complete?

Re: Sell or break?
If you've got the time you make more money breaking mr2s these days than you do selling them complete. It obviously takes time and patience though to do this.
If you want to get rid with no hassle then go the easy route and sell complete.

Re: Sell or break?
Sounds like breaking it is the way to go. It's a shame really because it's a good car and has been totally reliable. I've used it on track and it was great fun especially with the rev3 engine. Mechanically it's good and doesn't use any oil or water but the problem is the laquer is bubbling up all over the place so it won't be easy to sell and it has a bit of rust on one of the arches but it is otherwise it's very solid. The alloys and stainless decat exhaust are probably worth as much as the car so I thought I could get some money back with these.
Re: Sell or break?
just as well as the rev3 engine is almost worthless
Re: Sell or break?
I wouldn't say that. To be honest I would say sell it, there is bound to be someone who will buy it. Unlike someone who is breaking a perfectly good rev 3 turbo, I think it is a crying shame to see these being broken for parts, they are never going to be worth large amounts of money so no point trying to thin the numbers.
Re: Sell or break?
no point being sentimental about these cars or any others.
ive broken 2x perfectly good rev3 turbos and they are worth a fair bit more in bits than a complete car, and you don't have the typical tyre kicking used car buyers picking at it

I think you've hit the nail on the head. It's the only car I've ever owned that I've been sentimental about. I've bought and sold cars, scrapped cars without a second thought but this one (my first one) I just keep making excuses not to get rid of it. I suppose that's why we all love MR2s!!
Re: Sell or break?
They'll be none left when Jason's finished, sell it and let someone else have some fun with it.
