A mate of me plans to use ST165 twin pot calippers on his Mk1b, but don't know wich discs will fit. Redrill the Celica discs won't work as the german TÜV (equal to Your MOT ) wouln't accept this.
I know that some users of this board did this conversion so I am asking here.

Stock Mk1b discs, no mods, just bolt the calipers straight on.
Re: ST165 calippers + wich brakediscs ?
Can later ST185 single pot calipers be used with Mk1b MR2 discs Paul ?
Or is it neccessary to use the later 185 discs re-drilled to 4x100 PCD ?

Re: ST165 calippers + wich brakediscs ?
Some St185s came with 277mm discs, those calipers will need the 277mm Celica disc drilling to 4x100 PCD, any Celica caliper with a 256mm disc will be a direct swap onto any Mk1b.
The 277mm discs that do need drilling, you will find one of the 5 holes already in the correct place, the centre bore is 54.1 same as Mk1 so all you need to do with those is drill out the other 3 holes and it all works.
It's the most repeated thing about this conversion, it keeps getting asked, so once again any St165 or 185 256mm disc version caliper will be a plug and play upgrade on a Mk1b, no mods.
If you own a Mk1a, just switch up to Mk1b discs and get rid of your dust shield.
