Rear caliper - Fensport let me down need slide pin

Post by Toymad »

Hi, a quick intro before I launch into the gory details, I've been a Mk1b MR2 owner for about 5 years and do a bit of work on it myself. I've also got a 60 series Landcruiser, what can I say - 80's Toyotas do it for me:) Longtime lurker but not poster.

I bought a rear caliper from Fensport who sent me one that looked right but on trying to fit it I found the hanger bolts holes are in the wrong place. Fensport offered to send me the right one but I had to pay £12 postage to get the wrong one back to them. Now the replacement they've sent me doesn't have a hanger and it's the slide pit that is shot on mine so I'm now faced with spending another £12 to send it back just to get my money back on the caliper. Has anyone got any source of hangers with good slide pins?

If you definately ordered the correct item & the thing they sent was the wrong one then they should pay the return postage not you Toy

The same applies in both cases

What's wrong with your slide pin :?:

Wrong part first time was their mistake, they don't promise to supply the hanger and the picture shows no hanger so not necessarily their problem there. I do feel I've been treated pretty shoddily though.

The pin is very pitted and corroded, I refurbed the rest of the caliper a few months ago and the slide pin is sticking on again, as I thought it might.

I probably have a mounting bracket with decent slider pin in my "parts dept" Toy

Will have a look if you wish :?:

Fensport customer service is pretty poor anyway though

Well I certainly won't be shopping there in the future, that's for sure.

They are more expensive on most things as well.

Considered getting my ARP conrod bolts and main studs from there, but they want £160. Got em from USA for £98 instead, delivered.

They have things listed which haven't actually got in stock as well and showing pictures but not actually getting everything in the photo is poor.

No, I have to say the hanger error was mine, the photo didn't show the hanger but when they sent the wrong caliper it did have a hanger. The explanation was "sometimes they have them and sometimes they don't, no I won't get you a hanger."

Tony at Fensport per chance? He's a rude, arrogant bad advert for what is an excellent company.

I wish more people would try this before spending (I assume) a fair whack.
