just bought a ct20b turbo and on inspection found a crack in one of the wastegate tubes, exhaust housing no 74040.can this be fixed by welding or a metal chemical sealer or is it shot, the rest of the turbo is in good condition

Hi mate,

i dont think anyone will give you a diffenitave answere either way, there are too many variables (skill of the preson welding, composite of the original metal etc etc)

that said a pic might help :thumleft: , as it may just be a hairline surface crack, which sould (*may*) not cause you any issues.

your best bet is to get a turbo expert look at it though :thumleft:

post a pic though :thumleft:

I'd return it to seller.
