lacking power at low revs
I aint had my 1990 n/a mk2 long,it seems to me like it`s lacking power at low revs,as though timing is retarded but timing is spot on.When revs get to around 3000 it`s off like a goodun right through to gear change. Is this common, can any one help?
Re: lacking power at low revs
Thats normal mate for these cars with a slight bit of tuning i.e slight retard of timing can get the power in the lower revs! or you can go for more torque lower down whcih wud be better
Re: lacking power at low revs
hi,
you might check the tvis operation to make sure the butterflys are not stuck open this will limit low low down torque due to decreased air velocity. Also tr advancing the timing for a bit more torque throughout the range retarding generally looses power
