Source for various 'non-structural' bolts?

Post by jrleech »

I've lost and broken many of the bolts whilst stripping down my Mk1, and would like to replace them, and many other that are looking tired or just dirty (hey, I'm getting as bad as Toni!!), but I've not found anywhere that sells similar bolts to those used on the car.

While I don't mind paying Toyota prices for main suspension bolts, I refuse to pay them for the ones that hold on wings, bumpers, under trays, radiator etc..

They're all varying lengths, M3 to M8, some are 1mm pitch, others 1.25mm etc.. I can find most of the right sizes, but they're all just normal bolts, where as the Toyota ones are flange bolts (built in washer).

Does anyone know a source for Toyota sized flange bolts?

Failing that, I'll have to go round lots of breakers, and pinch all the good condition bolts ;)

Cheers,
Jon

It's too fiddly, you end up dropping the washers into inaccessible places.

The normal bolts never look the same either, giving the car a B&Q look to it.

mmm, fair enough. I might give them a try and see how much they actually charge. Might see if I can find some stainless fasteners for the undertray bolts though.

Based on usual experience with Toyota... Price!

.... but from what has been mentioned above, they might not be too bad for bolts. I shall ask them.
