Hi Allan, Just thought I would add my name to the list of people looking for this service in Glasgow too.

I know "McLarens" in Kirkintilloch are supposed to be excellent mate but I have not used them myself.

Cheers. Michael.

I also now need new sills - passengers side is end to end rotten, drivers side is rotten about half way.

What does the garage to to replace them? Build new sills, or replace from another vehicle?

:( crap news matey. Some places will use parts from other cars, I've heard sills from either Ford Ka or the Astra mk1 fit, other places just do it from new metal. Let us know how you get on eh? :(

Yup, likewise for you! I wont have the car ready for when I would have liked now, but I'll get it running no matter what! :thumleft:

I was trying to find some articles on the Ka and astra sills as I was sure I'd read that somewhere. I think people have had more luck with the astra sills than the Ka.

I think I've got the right man for the job though, as he's replaced plenty of sills, used to do welding and painting full time, and restores classic cars. In between him telling me that he's too busy, other customers etc... He actually sounds keen and almost enthusiastic at times ](*,)

Gonna let him take his time on it as I reckon he'll do a good job.

car is going in in a couple of weeks for both sills  Will ask the guy to take pics as he goes but I suspect it will be just bish bosh job done. I think he's using mk3 fiesta sills but since both are getting done they'll at least match.
